Shelby Green (They/She) is a Brooklyn based choreographer, performer, and video producer originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. They are the founder and artistic director of Yaroque Dance Theatre, a contemporary dance company creating bold, high-concept, high-camp performance work that blends emotional vulnerability, comedy, and theatricality. Shelby’s choreography has been presented in The Netherlands, Tel Aviv, and across the United States, and their work with Yaroque was nominated for best off-off-Broadway choreography by BroadwayWorld. Their work draws from dance theater, clowning, camp, and traditional movement forms to create worlds that are maximalist, vulnerable, strange, and deeply human.
