Sara Røisland Torsvik is a dance artist based in Bergen, Norway with her BA(hons) in contemporary dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London, UK. As a choreographer, Torsvik often work with interdisciplinary artists. Her conceptual pieces explore existential themes such as absolute presence, identity and (bodily-)memories. She seeks the real, unrefined expression and aim to expand the frames around performance. In 2019 she funded SART company after receiving an arts scholarship from the municipality of Bergen. She is also the co-funder of Kvinnereller performing arts company together with Brita Grov. As a performer, Torsvik has worked with companies like Lizzi Kew-Ross & Co (UK), SQx Dance (CA) and Grov Productions (NO).
