Leslie N. Polk is a scholar-artivist working at the intersection of Black Aesthetics and religions of the Diaspora—particularly Ntozake Shange’s performative method the choreopoem, and Southern Hoodoo—as an entry point into discourse and platforms of interreligious engagement. Her use of performance poetry, mixed-media collage art and film is thus used to engage healing modalities and philosophical inquiries found within contemplative practices and research. When not creating or studying, Leslie enjoys spending time with family and friends and creating herbal teas.
