Amelia Reiser (she/they) Born on the Osage Plains of central Oklahoma and based in NYC, Amelia is an artist, performer, and facilitator whose work currently moves through the intersections of dance, film and textiles. Their work explores body memory and paradoxes such as grief + joy, pleasure + devastation, while focusing on human longing (for beauty, poetics, validation, and connection) and the way these desires shape our collective and individual experience. Amelia is influenced by their time working with George Staib (staibdance company artist 2013-2024), research with Rosie Herrera (Rosie Herrera Dance Theater) and many other artists that have inspired and opened the path before, and with them. In addition to creating and performing dance works, Amelia is a Dance Church teacher, and a trauma-informed yoga instructor.
